Dr. Niall MacCallum

Dr. Niall MacCallum qualified from the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy's and St. Thomas's Hospitals in 1994, initially beginning his training in general medicine. He then transitioned to the Imperial School of Anaesthesia and undertook pan-London training in intensive care medicine. His academic and clinical excellence was further demonstrated when he was awarded a British Heart Foundation fellowship for his higher research training at the National Heart and Lung Institute/Royal Brompton Hospital.

Dr. MacCallum earned his PhD from the University of London and holds a range of postgraduate qualifications in medicine, anaesthesia, and intensive care medicine. He began his consultant career at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (ULCH) in 2009, where his expertise and leadership have been widely recognised.

Currently, Dr. MacCallum co-leads the critical care clinical trial team, playing a pivotal role in advancing research and improving patient outcomes in critical care settings.
