About Mr Neil Bhardwaj
Mr Neil Bhardwaj is a Consultant General, Hepatobiliary (liver) and Pancreatic Surgeon based in Leicester, with specialist expertise in keyhole (laparoscopic) surgery. His areas of interest include gallbladder, hernia, adrenal and spleen surgery, as well as complex surgery of the liver and pancreas.
Mr Bhardwaj routinely performs laparoscopic gallbladder removal, open and keyhole hernia repair, and both laparoscopic and open liver, adrenal and pancreatic surgery. He also carries out diagnostic investigations for abdominal pain and is experienced in ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography). In addition, he runs a specialist chronic pancreatitis clinic, managing both acute and long-term pancreatic conditions.
He graduated from the University of Leicester Medical School in 2001 and has been a Consultant HPB Surgeon at Leicester General Hospital since 2015. His surgical training was primarily undertaken in Leicester, followed by prestigious fellowships in Adelaide and Oxford.
Mr Bhardwaj is the Trent Region Representative for the Association of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeons (AUGIS). He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals, presented research at national and international conferences, and contributed to book chapters in his field.

Mr Bhardwaj was very professional with a pleasant manner. He explained everything well and we discussed forward treatment. He answered all our questions and ensured we were fully informed and happy with the forward plan. He also assured us that we could contact him at any time.

I cannot recommend Dr Bhardwaj highly enough.
