Dr. Nasirul Ekbal

Dr. Nasirul Ekbal is a highly skilled Consultant in both Nephrology and Intensive Care Medicine, dual-certified in these challenging fields. After graduating with distinction from UCL Medical School in 2001, he completed his medical rotations at London’s renowned teaching hospitals before embarking on specialist training in Nephrology at the city’s major renal centres. Driven by a passion for critical care, Dr. Ekbal then advanced into higher specialist training in Intensive Care Medicine, gaining valuable experience in general, liver, trauma, and neurosurgical intensive care.

At the Royal Free Hospital, he further refined his expertise during a post-CCT dialysis fellowship in Nephrology, where he notably contributed to the implementation of an innovative mobile phone application for acute kidney injury (AKI). His commitment to research led him to secure an MRC fellowship, during which he pursued a PhD investigating the effects of mitochondrial fluorescence in shock states. Complementing his clinical and research pursuits, Dr. Ekbal recently completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in Medical Education at the Royal College of Physicians.
