Dr Gemma Eminowicz is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist based in London. She specialises in the treatment of gynaecological cancers (cervical, endometrial, vulval and vaginal) and the delivery of brachytherapy. She also has a clinical interest in complex targeted radiotherapy delivery using image guidance and adaptive techniques as well as the use of imaging biomarkers during chemo-radiotherapy.
After completing her degree in Medicine at the University of Birmingham in 2004, she undertook specialist training in Oncology and attained a Fellowship with the Royal College of Radiologists in 2011. She was awarded MD(Res) from University College London (UCL) in 2016 for her work on optimisation of cervical cancer radiotherapy. Following this she was appointed a Substantive Consultant and Brachytherapy Lead initially at Imperial College Healthcare Trust. She then moved University College London Hospital, where she is still based.
Alongside her clinical work, Dr Eminowicz is actively involved in oncology research and has worked on a number of international clinical trials. She also is undertaking a study investigating the role of PET-MRI in patients undergoing chemoradiation for cervical cancer. She has presented her work at international both national and international meetings, and has also been published in a number of key oncology journals and book chapters. Dr Eminowicz is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at UCL and a member of the NCRI Gynaecological Oncology CSG.
