Professor Vikas Malik

Prof Vikas Malik is an ENT consultant with extensive experience managing ENT issues in adults and children. He takes pride in clearly explaining any procedures or diagnoses to his patients and addressing their queries and concerns. He adopts a patient-centric approach to care and collaborates closely with his patients to develop bespoke treatment plans. He firmly believes in providing safe, high-quality care and has received awards in this domain at the Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh NHS Foundation Trust, which reflects his
excellence. He has also been honoured with the 'Certificate of Excellence' by School of Surgery, Health Education North West England and 'Certificate of Medical Excellence' by

Prof Malik qualified in 1997 from King George Medical University in India. He completed three years of Masters in ENT Surgery followed by further three years training as a senior registrar in otology and skull base surgery. In 2003, he moved to the UK and completed the UK ENT training in North West England and Cambridge. He was also awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.  The UK Joint Committee on Higher Surgical Training awarded him the Completion Certificate of Training. He is on the GMC Specialist Register with a Licence to Practice. The GMC has recognised him as an ENT Surgical Trainer and Supervisor.

He has also gained the Thomas Wickham Jones Foundation visiting fellowship, the Ethicon visiting fellowship, the Karl Storz skull base fellowship and the Kenneth Bloor travelling fellowship.

He has also been awarded Fellowships from the Royal Society of Public Health and the Academy of Medical Educators in the UK.

He leads Simulation at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust. Additionally, he holds the position of Director for Simulation and Technology Enhanced Learning (SimTEL) at Greater Manchester Medical School and Honorary Professor at the Institute of Medicine, University of Greater Manchester.

He has recently been appointed to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh's Surgical Specialty Board for Otolaryngology, which supports, advises, and assists the College in specialty-related matters.
