At the start the service by the Spire staff confirming the date of the operation was a bit frustrating. I had to chase for the actual date in the end. I was also unclear on the type of anaesthetic I was going to receive. I asked at the meeting with the support anethatist to have a general anaesthetic but he could not confirm it and suggested the anethatist on the day will decide what type. I didn’t want to be awake for this operation and chased a number of times before the operation but didn’t receive a clear answer. This left me feeling anxious before the operation date. It was only on the day of the operation when I met Mr Parikh that he put me at ease and said I can have general anaesthetic. Mr Parikh was a lovely man and I have had him before for a previous operation so I was very relieved on the day of the operation to see his welcoming face. Mr Peter has been very professional in every meeting with him personally and he performed the most amazing operation on my right hip. My life has been transformed. The scar is so neat and small for such a big operation I was so pleased with the outcome overall. A big thank you Mr Peter and for your supporting team who looked after me on the day and post op.
