Mr Graham Cheung is a highly accomplished Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon based at the Liverpool Foundation Trust specialising in Hand and Wrist surgery. He also sees private patients at Spire Liverpool Hospital. Alongside his clinical work, Dr Cheung is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Edge Hill University and is an fan Honorary Lecturer at the University of Liverpool.
Mr Cheung possesses an extensive array of skills and expertise. He is well-versed in addressing various conditions that affect the hand and wrist, including nerve compressions, arthritis, wrist injuries, and tendon disorders. However, his true passion lies in providing specialised care to individuals affected by neuromuscular disorders, particularly those that impact the hand and wrist. Conditions such as cerebral palsy, head injuries, and strokes can have profound effects on hand and wrist function, and Dr Cheung is committed to enhancing the lives of these patients through targeted treatment and rehabilitation.
Mr Cheung is known for his innovative approach to surgery, and he offers minimally invasive procedures such as endoscopic (keyhole) carpal tunnel decompression for patients seeking advanced treatment options. Additionally, he recognises the importance of patient preferences and endeavours to provide tailored care. For instance, he performs local anaesthetic procedures for conditions like Dupuytren's disease, accommodating those who may prefer this approach over general anaesthesia.
Apart from his surgical expertise, Dr Cheung is recognised as a passionate and enthusiastic teacher. His wealth of knowledge and experience has made him a sought-after educator, and he is frequently invited to lead courses for senior registrar trainees who are preparing for their consultant exams. These courses take place at reputable institutions such as Wrightington and Oswestry, as well as within the Mersey region.

Excellent experience overall with surgery, it's made a very significant difference to my daily life & I can't thank Dr Cheung enough for the chance of getting this resolved. My hand feels light as a feather compared to the many years of pain I have suffered until now. His "bedside manner" has been a refreshing & uplifting experience for me, making me feel relaxed throughout the procedure. Dr Cheung is a breath of fresh air even though he must be very busy he still finds time to explain everything & made me feel a part of the journey rather than just another patient.

Explanation was very thorough and attention to detail. No punches pulled! I have to work much harder on this little finger to obtain the full movement expected. I appreciate all that was done for me ….. even the pain… especially today from Mr Cheung. Operation is a success so more hard work to follow on my part. Many thanks for pointing out the work needed to accomplish this!
