About Dr Turab Syed
Dr. Turab Syed is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma surgeon at the Forth Valley Royal Hospital, also appointing at Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeons Ltd in Harley Street, London. Dr. Syed specialises in sports injuries, clinically interested in degeneration of the lower limb from many different conditions such as arthritis. He has experience in surgical treatment via joint replacement, ligament reconstruction and tendon treatment of the foot, ankle, knee, and hip, as well as, stem cell and shockwave treatments. Dr. Syed effectively treats his patients with the aim of preserving and improving joint mobility.
Dr. Syed studied medicine at King Edward Medical College in Pakistan. He then went on to specialise in Orthopaedics and achieved a fellowship with the Royal Colleges of Surgeons for Trauma and Orthopaedics. Also becoming a Senior Fellow in Sports Surgery and Foot and Ankle Surgery, as well as, receiving a Hip and Knee arthroplasty and revision fellowship from the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.He has also completed a travelling Surgical fellowship in Arthoplasty Surgery at Hoechst Clinic in Frankfurt where he scrubbed up for surgeries. Dr. Syed also achieved a Masters in Sports Medicine after attaining a Diploma of Sports and Exercise Medicine from University of Bath and Membership in Sports & Exercise Medicine from Faculty in Sports & Exercise Medicine.

Dr Syed was very helpful with me during my recent orthopaedic consultation. He was very friendly and caring. He read some notes I had prepared which helped explain the situation that I was in. This helped us both with the consultation. After reviewing my X Rays he then further referred me to hospital/consultant in Livingston for ankle replacement and perhaps straightening of my lower leg that is causing the trouble. I was very happy with my consultation. Dr Syeds straightforward explanation of what was/is causing my pain and discomfort was refreshing to hear. Knowing that there is a way forward to treat me is very pleasing to know.
He also has a sense if humour which put me at greater ease
Dr Syed ensured I was listened to and fully explained planned investigations and the possible outcomes that could happen as well as what to expect after depending on results.
He was very nice & actually taking time to put things in place after 4 months finally feel someone is actually listening
