Mr Stephen Tai is clear explaining patient conditions. His professional, reassuring manner builds confidence. Operations bring success with quick recovery and no pain. These good results appear for hip replacement, knee pain, and hip arthritis.
Excellent care from my first consultation to my getting signed off. The hip operation has changed my life and I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Mr Tai and all the staff at Pinehill Hospital. Many thanks.
Mr Tai is a very skilled surgeon. I made a remarkably quick recovery. Thank you. He is clearly a busy man and in a hurry. My only critique is to spend a little more time for people to gather their thoughts in a stressful situation.
I am an NHS patient and was referred to see Mr Tai at Pinehills Hospital. My first consultation meeting was straightforward, with Mr Tai giving his diagnosis for both of my Hips to be replaced. He was polite and professional. He said that an overnight stay would be necessary, and any questions were answered clearly. Both Hips were scheduled with a four month interval. I am now two weeks post-op after the second hip replacement surgery, and feel very relieved and grateful to him and all his team. I believe Mr Tai did a brilliant job. These operations are life changing. Thankyou to all the staff I came into contact with at Pinehills Hospital.
Extremely professional, approachable, explained everything that I needed to know, felt at ease therefore felt comfortable asking any questions. Very happy with the outcome of my operation.
I had the great pleasure in informing Mr Tai that the operation has changed my life beyond expectations for movement and pain free. When I was told in January that my pain had been due to a hip issue I was in total disbelief, but being only 6 weeks the other side I am super excited about my future in my physical movement which is all down to Mr Tai and his team.
An exemplary experience. My first meeting with Mr Tai was handled in both a friendly and professional manner. All my questions were answered and options detailed in clear understandable terms. It was a good clear consultation. Full Knee Replacement of my left knee was the outcome. Surgery was excellently performed and after an overnight stay I was discharged. Under Mr Tai's supervision, my recovery was good and shorter than expected. Mr Tai was exceptional in his help to me, and i hope he will consider the exact same surgery on my right knee in the future.
Disappointing. This was my second Total Knee Replacement. My first was exceptional. I expected the same. However, I feel the surgery went well but the closure of the wound was not good enough so it bled. Mr Tai had to be called back to check having left theatre. I was able to see the extra wrapping of the wound to help stem the bleeding. Once I was taken back to the ward the dressing had to be changed and re wrapped with the crepe bandage. Next morning the nurses check the wound and it was still bleeding and the wound dressing was saturated. They cleaned up the wound and redressed it with extra layers of dressings. I was taken by the Physio Team to ensure I could manage walking with the sticks. As I could having done it before they were happy to sign me off for discharge. As the put me back into bed they saw I was bleeding. Nurses were called and changed the the dressing once again. Mr Tai visited and advised the nurses and asked me to stay a still as possible as the bleeding would soon stop. I was to stay in bed. I wasn't able to be discharged so had an extra day in hospital. Next morning nurse once again attended to the wound which had stopped bleeding. Dressing was changed again. I was discharged that afternoon with appointments to revisit the outpatients to have dressing checked. In all I had four extra visits. All is now well. I'm not a medical expert but I feel the problem was the closure of the wound which Mr Tai was not present for. I have every confidence in Mr Stephen Tai

Thank you for taking the time to review the care I provided to you. I’m pleased that you remain delighted with the results of the first knee replacement I performed on you. Sadly, from time to time wounds do leak after surgery but there is a well trodden path which we take in an attempt to get these wounds to dry up. As a result of these steps, I’m pleased that your wound dried up quickly and fully within 2-3 days of your surgery and at your post-operative review you reported an excellent outcome from your most recent surgery. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss things in greater detail and thank you for trusting me with both of your knee replacements - I hope you continue to be happy with the results of your surgeries.
Mr Tai was very friendly and explained the procedure simply and was very reassuring.
