From my experience, Mr Simon Gane is an extremely good doctor. He was the second doctor I spoke to after seeking another opinion. His approach was very thorough, and he ran many tests to ensure that whatever was recommended was backed up by results of a proper investigation into my condition. Additionally, he also took all the additional time to make sure that I also knew exactly what he was thinking and the reasons for the different tests, and made sure I understood his diagnosis so I could also research on my own or even seek an another opinion. Ultimately, we opted to do a septoplasty surgery which went very well and I felt informed and looked after throughout the process.

I saw Simon Gane because I was having difficulties breathing and felt that I had a blockage in one nostril. I also had suspicions that my sinuses might be blocked. I found him personable and caring. He listened to me and responded to questions in plain language. Most importantly, from the results of an endoscopic examination and CT scan, he explained that I have a deviated septum, which is restricting airflow in one nostril. He proposed several options for alleviating/curing the symptoms, ranging from cheap devices to wear at night, to surgery. As I am self funding, he itemised the likely costs of surgery should I be treated privately. He also has an NHS practice, although waiting times are far longer. The scan showed that my sinuses were clear. I couldn’t feel more relieved to finally understand what is going on and now feel that there is a clear way forward. I would highly recommend Simon Gane.
