About Mr Yousaf Shah
Mr Yousaf Shah is a result-orientated spinal surgeon with global professional medical experience, including work in the UK, Asia and the Middle East. He graduated in 1997, and after completing his general trauma and orthopaedic training in the UK, he received his subspeciality spine fellowships in management of complex and degenerative spinal disorders from Oxford and Reading.
He completed his MSc in Orthopaedic Engineering from Cardiff University in 2008 and was also awarded Diploma SICOT (Société Internationale de Chirurgie Orthopédique et de Traumatologie) in 2008.
Mr Shah is a firm believer in good patient–doctor relationships and his ethos is that patients' full understanding of the disease process and plan of management is vital for their well-being and a good clinical outcome. Besides English, he can communicate in Arabic, Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi languages.
He has made various presentations both nationally and internationally and is currently a faculty member of an internationally renowned course for preparation for the FRCS Trauma and Orthopaedic Examination.
He is a member of the British Association of Spine Surgeons, North American Spine Society, AO Spine, British Orthopaedic Association and British Trauma Society.
