Mr William Bartlett

Mr William Bartlett, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, is currently practising in North and Central London. He is highly specialised in surgical and non-operative management of hip and knee complaints.

Mr Bartlett finished his medical degree in 1994 at University College London where he was awarded numerous prizes including the Myerstein prize for best overall pre-clinical performance. He initially trained in surgery at University College Hospital and the St. Bartholomew's Hospital rotation, which inspired him to follow a career in orthopaedics. His subsequent specialist orthopaedic training occurred at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, and he also undertook research and a subspeciality fellowship. Further training on techniques of joint preservation and minimally invasive replacement surgery was undertaken abroad at units including the Presbyterian Hospital in Texas, the New Albany Hospital in Ohio and Chirurgish Orthopadische in Germany.

Mr Bartlett sees a wide range of differently aged patients from young adults to the elderly, he also sees numerous professional sportsmen & women. Indeed, he has gained a wide range of experience treating patients who have previously been refused surgery due to concerns relating to advanced age, obesity or complex medical conditions. In all groups, non-surgical treatment options will always be thoroughly explored initially, often through close work with expert physiotherapists, osteopaths, radiologists, sports physicians and rheumatologists.
