Mr Tom Eke

Mr Tom Eke is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with specialist interests in cataract and glaucoma. 

He is experienced in managing complex cataract cases, including patients with coexisting glaucoma, small pupils, or anxiety. He uses small-incision phacoemulsification surgery with individually selected lens implants and offers a range of anaesthesia options, including a technique that allows cataract surgery to be performed with the patient sitting upright.

Mr Eke's approach to glaucoma focuses on helping patients understand their condition and feel informed about their treatment. He offers comprehensive modern management, including pachymetry and OCT imaging. Treatment options may include eye drops, laser procedures, or surgery. In many cases, a brief SLT laser treatment can reduce the need for long-term eye drops. He is an experienced glaucoma surgeon, regularly performing procedures such as trabeculectomy with mitomycin, re-do trabeculectomy, bleb needling, combined cataract and glaucoma surgery, and cyclo-diode laser.
