As a higher risk patient with astigmatism needing cataract surgery on both eyes, I wanted a senior consultant to look after me. At the first consultation, Mr Robbie carried out a thorough review and asked about my lifestyle, hobbies and requirements in order to assess my needs. Taking these into account, he suggested lenses which he thought would work best for me while at the same time minimise the risk of intolerance. There is always an element of compromise and he devised a strategy involving monofocal EDOF toric lenses of different strengths with the objective of making me as free from glasses as possible. I also received a very detailed opinion letter. The other private consultant I had seen had been far less meticulous and this option had not been mentioned. There were complications in the recovery of one of my eyes and recovery is ongoing. Mr Robbie was extremely supportive and saw me several times post-surgery and was also available over the phone. His examinations were thorough and effective. I am now in a position where I am able to go about my day to day business without glasses, including reading, and overall have good vision. Mr Robbie is also supported by a very efficient PA who arranged appointments and provided transparent pricing.
Mr Robbie is very detailed in explaining the procedure prior to the surgery, and the outcomes post op. He was very patient and took time to examine me, and explained everything in the best possible sentences and terms to ensure I understand . He is very compassionate, empathic and dedicated practitioner.
I saw Mr Robbie recently. This was to review my eyes regarding the use of dupilumab which can cause issues. He is always friendly and explains things simply and hence easy to understand. Thank you again!!!
I found my recent visit to the Ridley Clinic to be very helpful in every way from reception to Mr Robbie, especially on a very hot day. The clinic seemed to me to be very well run and friendly.
I’m someone who asks a lot of questions and wants to be informed, so Mr Robbie was very good when it came to taking the time to explain things to me. Professional, but also personable.
Very thorough and professional and easy to speak to ... recommend highly enough?
Very pleased with the excellent service from Mr Robbie. I would highly recommend him. Thanks Mr Robbie
It was a pleasure to meet with Dr Robbie. He has a calm and sympathetic demeanour and really listened to the issues I described regarding my prolonged severe dry eyes. He was thorough in his examinations and his treatment plan was very helpful. His consideration when prescribing and forward planning for future treatments, was also much appreciated. I would highly recommend him to anyone else who is looking for a fantastic and extremely knowledgeable consultant and would continue to see him in the future, should I have any further issues.
4 months after a DALk surgery, I had a few concerns and was feeling anxious about my eye. Mr Robbie was excellent, he put my mind at ease and reassured me all is well. More importantly he had the answers and calmness to make me confident to know if any issues did arise there is always a solution and for me not to worry.
I am most grateful to Mr Robbie for his professional and kind approach, providing me with confident reassurance in treating my Salzmannoid corneal epithelial degeneration. He was clear and informative in his diagnosis, provided timely and practical information for surgery, and transparent about clarifying all surgery costs as a self funded patient. The timings and location of the diagnosis and surgery were convenient for me. I chose a private NHS facility. Mr Robbie exceeded my expectations during the surgery to ensure I was well supported throughout the process. The surgery was successful and I am happy with the overall experience. I would recommend Mr Robbie.
Scott Robbie is a world renowned corneal and cataract expert who is fantastic with patients, a pleasure to work with as a colleague and treats his staff with huge respect.
