Richard Hargrove was born in Kent and went to Tonbridge School. He attended Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in London.
Mr. Hargrove became a Specialist Registrar in the South West Thames training scheme and also has a Diploma in Sports Medicine. After attaining his final FRCS(Trauma and Orth), he went on to become the Senior Clinical Fellow in Hip Revision Surgery at Kings College University Hospital in London. After a short observership at the Mayo Clinic, he became the ‘Furlong Fellow' in Hip Surgery under John Edge specialising in uncemented hip replacements and hip revision work. He became a Consultant at Frimley Park Hospital in 2008.
Mr. Hargrove has been published on a variety of trauma and orthopaedic topics and has lectured on hip replacement surgery both in the UK and abroad.
Mr. Hargrove is a specialist in lower limb surgery including hip arthroplasty, ‘mini-hip' replacement, hip revision surgery, knee replacement surgery, knee arthroscopy and sports injuries.

I was totally satisfied with the pre-OP and post-op interaction. The operation itself has been successful as I now have no pain and am walking with no limp or awkward gait. Mr. Hargrove was very honest and direct about the risks attached to the procedure and I had clear direction as to what I can and cannot do at my final appointment. Thank you.

I feel so grateful to Mr Hargrove for excepting me as a NHS patient. I had been in pain for quite a few years, and now I am pain free. The treatment I received from first consultation with Mr Hargrove to all the members of his team was exemplary.

Mr Hargrove is very professional and knowledgeable, and at the same time his manner is friendly and relaxed which put me at my ease. He answers any questions or concerns in a way that is easy to understand, at the same time explaining any risks involved in the operation realistically. I previously consulted Mr Hargrove about anther matter some years ago, and would not hesitate to see him again.

I had the choice of NHS or Private procedures. After my consultation with Mr Hargrove I felt that he explained the problem with my Hip clearly and how the procedure would be carried out. He also explained in detail my part in making a full recovery which was most reassuring as this was the first time that I had been in Hospital.
