He has been Clinical Lead of Ophthalmology at UHCW for the past 8 years, and is lead consultant for Diabetic retinopathy Hospital eye services and Retinal vein occlusion procedures. Mr Manjunatha has a wealth of experience in performing cataract surgery and Medical Retina treatments.
He graduated in 1998 and did an MD in Ophthalmology at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India. He then became a Member of the prestigious Royal College of Ophthalmologists. He went on to carry out his sub-specialty training in Medical retina and general ophthalmology including cataract surgery, as a senior clinical fellowship at Birmingham.
Mr Manjunatha is very passionate about medical education and uses his considerable experience to act as both an educational supervisor and clinical supervisor for many trainees. In addition, he provides skilled oversight as lead consultant for eye injection services and laser treatments at UHCW.
Mr Manjunatha is an experienced researcher in the field of retina, with many national and international publications and presentations. He was a finalist for 'Leader of the year - 2019' at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, indicative of his leadership skills. His team were also finalists for the prestigious national 'HSJ awards', demonstrating their dedication to excellence.
