Mr Mahran is the lead clinician for oncology, laparoscopy and hysteroscopy services at Bedford Hospital NHS Trust and a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist with 23 years' experience.

He completed his advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery training in Norfolk and Norwich University and London Hospitals, has since introduced the keyhole hysterectomy, keyhole myomectomy, and advanced laparoscopic surgery to Bedford Hospital. He established the operative hysteroscopy clinics at Bedford and Manor BMI Hospitals. He also has advanced skills in managing endometriosis and runs the endometriosis clinics in Bedford and Luton hospitals to help patient with pelvic pain.

Mr Mahran was awarded the excellence award for his contribution in the field of laparoscopy and he is an active member of the British society of laparoscopic surgeon.

Mr Mahran practices a holistic style of gynaecology and provides detailed and comprehensive information that empowers his patients to make an informed decision about their own circumstances

He is a specialist in gynaecological cancers, pelvic pain, heavy menstrual bleeding and colposcopy and also retains a broad range of fundamental gynaecology skills that include medical and surgical management of menstrual disorders, endometriosis, fibroids and pelvic pain.

Mr Mahran is interested in medical education and frequently organises lectures, small groups and workshops for fellow peers/professionals. Mr Mahran has been working as preceptor for other consultants to support them learning the advanced laparoscopic surgery.

He has also published numerous articles in various medical journals. Away from the office, he is a keen swimmer and tennis player and enjoys spending time with his family.
