Mr Michael Oko

Mr Michael Oko, Consultant ENT Surgeon, currently works within the United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust. He is highly specialised in the treatment of sleeping disorders, including sleep apnoea.

Mr Oko began his medical education in London where he qualified at St Mary's Hospital and the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital. During his training, he was shortlisted out of 12 candidates for the ‘Surgeon in Training Award' for instrument design and innovation awarded by the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. He has held his current role since 2005, taking on additional responsibilities throughout his tenure like Clinical Lead of ENT 2007-2011 and Clinical Lead for General Surgery from 2009-2011. He also established the Snoring Disorders Centre in Boston and clinics within Spalding. He has won several awards for his work within his Trust including the NHS East Midlands Healthcare Award for service transformation (for his sleep service) and the Middle East Hospitals Award for Respiratory Excellence (for raising sleep apnoea awareness). He is also an active researcher focusing on sleep disorders.
