Mr. Michael Butler is a highly skilled orthopaedic surgeon with extensive experience and training in the field. He obtained his medical degree from the London Hospital Medical College in 1996 after completing his undergraduate studies at Cambridge University.
Mr. Butler's surgical journey began in 2000 when he embarked on Basic Surgical Training in the South West of England. He achieved the Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2001 and commenced Higher Surgical Training in 2003. Throughout his training, Mr. Butler gained a comprehensive understanding of various aspects of Orthopaedic Surgery, working across different hospitals in the South West.

Mr. Butler served 25 years in the Army as an orthopaedic surgeon and retired to work for the NHS in Cornwall while also holding admitting rights at the Duchy Hospital. Here, he provides consultation and performs surgeries for both NHS and private patients.
Specialising in foot and ankle problems, Mr. Butler treats a diverse range of patients, including professional athletes, high-intensity sports enthusiasts, and military personnel, as well as individuals facing challenges associated with tendon dysfunction and arthritis. The Achilles speedbridge operation was fully explained in a friendly and professional manner to me, including a video. I never felt pressured to go ahead with the operation, but it something I chose to have to relieve my years of pain. The operation went well and Mr Butler has reviewed me post op answering any questions or concerns. Mr Butler is thoughtful and very knowledgeable, I would not hesitate to recommend to others.
