Mr Mark Johnston

Mark Johnston is an experienced and highly qualified Consultant ENT Surgeon. He graduated from the University of Birmingham in 1990 with a MBChB as well as a first-class honour BSc in pathological Sciences. Mark then went on to complete his higher surgical training in ENT within the East Midlands Region, During this 6-year period, he was based at Queens Medical Centre, Leicester Royal Infirmary and Derby Royal Infirmary.

In 2003, he was appointed as a Consultant ENT Head & Neck Surgeon at the Royal Derby Hospital and the Derby Childrens Hospital (University Hospitals of Derby & Burton)

His expertise is in complex mastoid and diseases of the ear and nose (sinus disease and post-nasal trauma) and has specialist and general ENT clinics for both adult and comprehensive paediatric services.

Mark also has clinics at both Ilkeston and Heanor Hospitals. He has also been involved in medical education and has previously trained ENT higher surgical trainees in the east midlands region. Additionally, he was the clinical lead for ENT surgeries through the University of Nottingham.

Mark is a member of The British Association of Otolaryngologists, Head and Neck Surgeons (ENT-UK), The British Rhinological Society, and the Midlands Institute of Otolaryngology.

He has two children and has an active life; he currently plays rugby with his son on the same team at Derby Rugby Club. Additionally, he participates in endurance events to raise money for charities.
