Mr Mark Cynk

Mark Cynk joined Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust in 2002, as a consultant urological surgeon. He was born in the Midlands, of Polish parentage. He was an undergraduate at Guy's Hospital, London, with postgraduate training at the Institute of Urology, Guy's, Worthing, Brighton and Eastbourne Hospitals. This included attachments to the Guy's Stone Unit and the Department of Urology, University of Miami, USA.

His clinical practice includes all aspects of general urology. His special interests are endourology, laparoscopy, robotic kidney surgery, stones and reconstructive renal surgery. He has particular experience in kidney cancer surgery, percutaneous stone surgery, ureteroscopy, flexible ureterorenoscopy and laser stone treatment.  He is a pioneer of Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate and is involved in teaching and mentoring other consultants in the technique, both in the UK and abroad. 

He is a member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons, including their sections on oncology and endourology and a member of the European Association of Urologists. He is a senior lecturer at the Kent and Medway Medical School.
