Mr Kusu Samuel Orkar

Mr Kusu Samuel Orkar is a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon who has been serving at Queen Victoria Hospital since 2009. He also sees patients at Spire Alexandra Hospital, The McIndoe Centre - Horder Healthcare, and the Kent Institute of Medicine & Surgery.

Mr Orkar graduated as the best student of his year from the University of Jos in Nigeria in 1987. He completed comprehensive training in General and Plastic Surgery in Nigeria and served as a Consultant General and Plastic Surgeon there. Furthering his expertise in the UK, Sam trained at the Canniesburn Unit in Glasgow, St Andrews Centre for Plastic Surgery and Burns in Chelmsford, Queen Victoria Hospital, and the McIndoe Surgical Centre in East Grinstead.

Mr Orkar has undertaken fellowships in breast/microsurgery, hand surgery, and cosmetic surgery, enhancing his skills in these areas. His subspecialty interests include breast surgery (including reconstruction), skin cancer treatment, and managing problematic scars. Sam runs clinics at Queen Victoria Hospital and Medway Maritime Hospital.

He strives for excellence through the thoughtful application of appropriate surgical techniques and meticulous attention to detail.

Mr Orkar’s private practice encompasses all aspects of cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. He has a keen interest in facial aesthetic surgery, including nose reshaping, breast cosmetic surgery, breast reconstruction (including microsurgical techniques), and body contouring surgery, particularly for weight loss patients.

Mr Orkar is on the GMC specialist register for plastic surgery and is a member of BAPRAS (British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons) and BAAPS (British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons).
