About Mr K Sehat
Mr K Sehat is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon based at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. His clinical practice focuses on hip and knee surgery, including joint replacement, trauma, and complex reconstructive procedures. He also sees patients privately at Spire Nottingham Hospital, where he has practised since 2019.
Mr Sehat graduated in medicine from the University of Bristol and completed specialist orthopaedic training in Nottingham and New Zealand. He was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in 2008. Mr Sehat also established and chairs the Trent Regional Network for Metastatic Bone Cancer and performs complex surgery for patients with metastatic skeletal disease. He is a member of the international Pheno4U panel, which focuses on improving outcomes following knee replacement surgery.

My full right hip replacement was a complete success as it stopped chronic right leg pain. My neurological issues masked any movement improvements. Mr Sehat went beyond duty by liaising with my NHS neurologist. Mr Sehat promised to ring my wife post operation, but this apparently did not happen. He and other consultants might consider apologising when keeping patients waiting more than 15 minutes past appointment time. Post operation pain relief was very poor, I was promised morphine by a ward sister, but this never happened. (I managed to get a morphine prescription from GP via a nurse the day after discharge. Similarly, at earlier Spire spine operation involving rods and screws the pain was even worse with no proper relief. I had to return to the Spire on a Saturday begging medication, which was even then witheld until doctor had managed to contact consultant on golf course.)
From the moment I arrived I felt at ease. All the staff were friendly and helpful . Mr Sehat himself made me feel very comfortable and he explained my diagnosis and treatment in an understandable manner .

Went for my initial appointment at the Spire Hospital today for a hip replacement. The hospital was very clean and the staff very welcoming. Mr Sehat was very professional and explained everything to me regarding my surgery.

We were initially told that Dr Sehat was running 25 minutes late. However, most of this time was made up and our appointment was virtually on time. Dr Sehat was professional but friendly and relaxed and we did not feel rushed. He answered all of our questions and we were reassured that everything was going to plan.

Excellent care. Only pain i had lasted a couple of weeks and recovery was very quick. In 7 weeks I was walking unaided. For an 86 year old thought that was pretty good!

Considering the type of operation it was great experience, I’ve had no real pain . Which I’m amazed at. The procedure was above and beyond what I expected which i assume it what has led to the quick recovery. I can’t thank mr Sehat enough
