Mr John Morley

Mr John Morley is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee surgery. He practises privately at Circle Reading Hospital and is also a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. His clinical interests include primary and revision hip and knee joint replacement, hip replacement in younger patients and prosthetic joint infection.

After qualifying from the University of Glasgow in 1994, Mr Morley undertook his basic surgical training in the West of Scotland before completing a Research Fellowship in the Academic Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Leeds, studying the body's response to major trauma. He was awarded an MD by the University of Leeds in 2007 for his research thesis. The results of his research have been presented internationally and published in medical and scientific journals.

His specialist orthopaedic training took place within the Yorkshire Deanery in Leeds, where he also worked as a Clinical Lecturer. He subsequently completed specialist fellowship training in hip and knee replacement at the Chapel Allerton Orthopaedic Centre. In 2009, he spent a year at the Exeter Hip Unit, known for its pioneering work in developing the Exeter Hip replacement. The following year, he worked as a Joint Replacement and Orthopaedic Oncology Fellow at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford.

Mr Morley's professional memberships include the British Orthopaedic Association and the British Medical Association, and he is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
