Mr John Morley

John Morley is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee surgery, with particular expertise in primary and revision joint replacement and robotically assisted knee surgery. He is a Consultant at the Royal Berkshire Hospital and also practises privately at Circle Reading Hospital and Spire Dunedin Hospital.

His specialist interests include hip and partial knee replacement, robotically assisted total knee replacement, complex and revision joint replacement, hip replacement in younger patients, and the treatment of prosthetic joint infection.

He qualified from the University of Glasgow in 1994 and trained in surgery and orthopaedics in Scotland and Yorkshire. During his training, he completed a Research Fellowship in the Academic Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Leeds, investigating the body’s response to major trauma. He was awarded an MD for this work in 2007, with his research presented internationally and published in medical and scientific journals.

Following specialist orthopaedic training in Leeds, where he also worked as a Clinical Lecturer, he undertook advanced fellowship training in hip and knee replacement. He subsequently spent a year at the internationally renowned Exeter Hip Unit, home of the Exeter Hip replacement, before completing a further fellowship in joint replacement and orthopaedic oncology at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford.

John has extensive experience in hip and knee replacement surgery and believes in providing patients with clear, straightforward advice and treatment tailored to their individual needs. His aim is to help patients understand their options and make informed decisions about their care.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and an active member of the British Hip Society and the British Orthopaedic Association.
