Having been referred to Mr Smith's Hip Clinic with what had previously been diagnosed elsewhere as 'boney spurs' giving me severe bone on bone pain, restriction of joint range and unable to undertake my normal sports and exercise, Mr Smith studied my X-rays and quite decisively told me I needed a total hip replacement. The THR was undertaken by Mr Smith on a Friday afternoon and I was discharged the following day to recuperate at home. My follow up appointments with my physio at The Chaucer Hospital were excellent with the exercises clearly explained and demonstrated. My experience with all of those involved, particularly Mr Smith, with my recent hip operation at The Chaucer Hospital has been a very positive one and I'm thrilled to have now been 'signed off' by Mr Smith - I'm pain free and able to get back to my hobbies and sports.

I couldn't fault any of my experience the whole team starting with Mr Smith his anesthetist . nurses. And everyone involved with my operation and after care was absolutely exceptional. Would highly recommend all of it. Thankyou for my new hip .Great being pain free ..

The appointment was post-operation and resulted in my discharge. Mr Smith was professional, yet friendly and approachable. I felt comfortable asking questions and clear about the explanations.

Prior to my consultation I was extremely anxious about needing hip surgery but meeting with him comoletely transformed my outlook. He was prompt and running on time for our appointment, which I greatly appreciated Mr Smith took the time to show me my X-rays and clearly talk me through what he was seeing, explaining the entire procedure throughly, answering all of my questions with patience. He has a wonderflly reassuring manner that immediately put me at ease and thanks to his clear communication and compassionate approach, I feel comepletely confident and happy to go ahead with the surgery.

As always Mr Smith was clear in his explanations of what the surgery would entail together with what to expect pist op. Very helpful in explaining what happens next. Consultations with him are relaxed, calm and informative. Putting you at ease and feeling confident in what to expect in the next phase of treatment.
