Mr Greg Jones

Mr Greg Jones is a Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon with a specialist focus in weight loss surgery, gallbladder surgery, and hernia repair. Based in the Thames Valley region and central London, he holds an NHS post at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust and provides private care through Thames Valley General Surgery and Optimise Weight Loss. He is known for his patient-centred approach, prioritising individual needs to determine the most appropriate treatment pathway—whether surgical or non-surgical.

Mr Jones has a particular interest in minimally invasive and robotic surgery, including laparoscopic procedures for gallstones, hernias, and acid reflux. He also promotes enhanced recovery protocols to support faster and safer postoperative outcomes. He earned a BSc from University College London in 2002 and completed his medical training at Imperial College London in 2003. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2012 and later appointed as a consultant in 2015.
