Having completed basic medical degree in Calcutta University,India, Pathak came to England in 1989. He trained mainly in Nottingham and Derby in Orthopaedic Surgery. He passed my FRCS fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1992 and joined the Royal Air Force in 1994. He gained specialist training in Hand and Upper Limb Surgery in Nottingham, Derby, Adelaide and Sydney. After passing my higher specialist Fellowship of the joint Royal Colleges: England, Scotland and Ireland in 1998 and fellowship training in Australia he was appointed consultant in Orthopaedic and Trauma with special interest in upper limb surgery in Portsmouth. He was a senior orthopaedic consultant in Her Majesty's Royal Air Force of which the last seven years he was the head of orthopaedics and trauma surgery. He retired from the RAF and he is independently operating at the Fitzwilliam Hospital Peterborough.
He is fellow of the British Orthopaedic Association, British Society of Surgery of the Hand and Combined Services Orthopaedic Society.
