About Mr Gareth Stables
Mr Gareth Stables, founder of the My Knee Doc clinic, has more than 20 years' experience treating knee problems. Mr Stables decided to specialise solely in knee problems as he believes consultants who focus on just one area are able to deliver the best possible outcomes for their patients.

Mr Stables can help find the root cause of your knee pain through investigations such as MRI scans and X-rays. He will provide a thorough diagnosis ensuring that his patients fully understand their condition before putting together a treatment plan.
He is able to diagnose Knee arthritis early which can help to avoid major surgery and offer non-surgical treatments that might not be available on the NHS (such as specialist joint injections). He can also treat sports injuries and help you get active again following a cartilage tear or cruciate ligament tear.
Mr Stables believes that knee replacement should be a last resort as, although it is a safe and effective procedure, replacement joints do not last forever. He therefore prefers to look at non-surgical treatments for your knee problem to preserve the natural knee joint and delay or potentially avoid the need for major surgery, particularly in younger patients. If surgery is recommended, he will discuss thoroughly with you to decide if it is the right option for you.
Mr Stables is an advocate of open communication - he is approachable and embraces social media and other communication pathways with his patients.

It was a 10 min telephone conversation. I only gave 4 stars for the experience because as a retired physician myself I am not a supporter of telephone consultations. However being a health professional myself Iwas able to get my issues across which Mr Stables dealt with professionally to my satisfaction. In my situation 10-15 mlns was sufficient but for others with my problem I doubt it would be.
Annual checkup on a right knee replacement Mr Stables checked over the scar, knee flexibility, soft tissue healing process, walking ability etc.. Advised further patella exercise to further strengthen the tissue
Mr Stables discussed the results of my examinations in details I could understand and fully explained the potential treatment for recovery. I am confident, following his recommendations, I will make a sufficient recovery to enjoy a healthier lifestyle.

I had the time to explain my arthritus problem in as much detail as I wanted. At the end we came up with a plan of action. It won't be quick but hopefully, I'll get there.
