Mr Gareth Stables, founder of the My Knee Doc clinic, has more than 20 years' experience treating knee problems. Mr Stables decided to specialise solely in knee problems as he believes consultants who focus on just one area are able to deliver the best possible outcomes for their patients.
"I'm your knee doctor, not just your knee surgeon"
Mr Stables can help find the root cause of your knee pain through investigations such as MRI scans and X-rays. He will provide a thorough diagnosis ensuring that his patients fully understand their condition before putting together a treatment plan.
He is able to diagnose Knee arthritis early which can help to avoid major surgery and offer non-surgical treatments that might not be available on the NHS (such as specialist joint injections). He can also treat sports injuries and help you get active again following a cartilage tear or cruciate ligament tear.
Mr Stables believes that knee replacement should be a last resort as, although it is a safe and effective procedure, replacement joints do not last forever. He therefore prefers to look at non-surgical treatments for your knee problem to preserve the natural knee joint and delay or potentially avoid the need for major surgery, particularly in younger patients. If surgery is recommended, he will discuss thoroughly with you to decide if it is the right option for you.
Mr Stables is an advocate of open communication - he is approachable and embraces social media and other communication pathways with his patients.
Mr Stables uses the latest available techniques that work with the body's own tissues to help regenerate joints affected by arthritis. The team of therapists at the clinic work closely together to preserve your knee joint and get you moving and pain-free.
Mr Stables uses healthcare apps and virtual consultations to help keep track of your progress and is always available if you have any questions.

Gareth is very professional and clear on what the treatment plan was going to be.
I had the time to explain my arthritus problem in as much detail as I wanted. At the end we came up with a plan of action. It won't be quick but hopefully, I'll get there.
Extremely professional and I am happy with my experience. Would recommend Mr Stables to family and friends.
A virtual call was arranged for convenience and was as informative and efficient as a face to face consultation.
My recent experience with Mr. stables was organised at short notice. I received clear and precise information of what was causing my knee pain and the options available for myself. Looking forward to progressing to the next stage in order to everything sorted.
Gareth is very clear in letting you know exactly what will happen, before and after surgery. He put my mind at ease even when I wished I’d never had it done due to the pain. 6 months down the line, I’ve finally been discharged. So thank you. Things can only get better.

"Thank you so much for your kind review. I am very pleased that I could help put your mind at ease during your recovery. Surgery can be a difficult journey, and it’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed when dealing with post-operative pain. Your resilience has really paid off, and it’s wonderful to see you reached your 6-month discharge with such a positive outlook. The hardest part is officially behind you, and I wish you all the very best as you continue to improve. Best regards Gareth
Cannot fault anything, bedside manner and professionalism is very reassuring and satisfying

Thank you very much for your kind feedback. I’m delighted to hear that you found my bedside manner and professionalism reassuring. It is always my goal to ensure my patients feel comfortable and well-supported throughout their care. I truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Best regards, Gareth
Had Hylaronic acid injections in both knees £682.00 4 weeks later worse than ever.

am sorry to hear that you haven't seen the improvement we hoped for following your injections and that you are experiencing more discomfort. As we discussed during our recent follow-up, while Hyaluronic acid is beneficial for many, clinical outcomes can unfortunately vary. I completely understand your disappointment that the treatment did not provide the relief you were looking for. I sincerely hope you find an effective solution for your knee pain moving forward and wish you the very best for a positive outcome with your future care. Best regards, Gareth
Excellent, thoughtful and well informed consultation regarding options going forward to treat knee osteoarthritis and articular cartlidge lesions.

Thank you for your kind feedback. I am pleased to hear that you found our consultation helpful and that you feel well-informed regarding the options for your knee care. Providing clear, thoughtful guidance is a priority for me, and I’m glad I could help you plan your next steps for managing the osteoarthritis and cartilage lesions. Best regards, Mr. Gareth Stables
