About Mr Dan Titcomb

Mr Dan Titcomb is a Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon with expertise in minimally invasive oesophagogastric surgery and the management of complex upper gastrointestinal conditions. He graduated in medicine from the University of Bristol before completing his specialist surgical training within the South West region of the United Kingdom.

In 2009, Mr Titcomb was awarded a prestigious travelling fellowship by the Association of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeons, enabling him to undertake advanced training in minimally invasive upper gastrointestinal cancer surgery at the Cancer Institute Hospital in Tokyo, Japan. He has also completed further specialist minimally invasive surgical training in Versailles and Gothenburg, expanding his expertise in advanced laparoscopic and oesophagogastric procedures.

Mr Titcomb was appointed as a Consultant Upper GI Surgeon in Gloucestershire in 2009 before taking up his NHS Consultant position in Bristol in 2010. He has a particular interest in the management of dysplastic Barrett’s oesophagus and played a key role in establishing the specialist endoscopic treatment service for this condition following his appointment.

Alongside his work in advanced endoscopic therapy, Mr Titcomb specialises in minimally invasive oesophagogastric cancer surgery and currently serves as Clinical Lead for Oesophagogastric Surgery at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. He is also actively involved in surgical education and has served as international faculty, training surgeons across the United Kingdom and Europe in advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques.
