Mr Aswatha Ramesh

Mr Aswatha Ramesh is a General Surgeon with a specialism in Lower Gastrointestinal Surgery. He is currently based at the private practice BMI The Alexandra Hospital and his current post is University Hospital of South Manchester. His areas of specialist interest include colorectal surgery, haemorrhoids, endoscopy, gall bladder, gallstones and endoscopic procedures.

Mr Ramesh qualified in Medicine with Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degrees from Bangalore University, India in 1991. In 2008 he completed a Doctorate of Medicine at the University of Hull and in 2006 he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He has many professional memberships including Association of Colo-proctology of Great Britain and Ireland, British Medical Association and British Hernia Society.

In addition, Dr Ramesh is interested in research regarding Predicting outcome in Colorectal Surgery and Colorectal Cancer. He also offers many courses to GPs regarding his areas of specialism.
