Mr Andrew Rogers was born in Newport, Wales where he attended medical school in Cardiff, qualifying as a doctor in 1992. He undertook his orthopaedic training on the welsh rotation and passed his FRCS Orth exam and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2001. He was granted his certificate of completion of specialist training (CCST) in 2002. During his orthopaedic training he became interested in hand surgery and this led to him undergoing two hand surgery fellowships, the first was at the Pulvertaft Hand Centre Derby and the second in the USA was at the world famous Christine M Kleinert Institute of Hand and Microsurgery. Upon returning to the UK he took up an orthopaedic post at the Royal Gwent Hospital Newport where as well as undertaking general orthopaedic treatments he has increasingly sub specialised in hand surgery. He has an extensive NHS practice, seeing and treating over one thousand patients annually for the Aneurin Bevan Healthcare Trust.

Carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel release of the left arm, Mr Rogers was calm, clear and informative throughout the procedure.
Very positive, everything was explained perfectly and the procedure went very well.
Andrew Rogers is a particularly relaxed and yet professional surgeon. Throughout my time in the Day Surgery Unit, he made sure I was aware of every stage of the surgery, including risks but had the ability to reassure me to the point that I too was relaxed. His understanding of my problem that needed surgery was clear and likewise, he made sure I understood the procedure and outcome. He is a lovely chap and I always feel very comfortable in his hands. During surgery (I had a block) I had the privilege of being fully awake throughout and was very impressed with how he treated his team and how good the interaction was between them.
Mr Roger’s ‘bedside’ manner is phenomenal, explains everything in great detail, advising which path to go down. He is very friendly indeed Highly recommend seeing Mr Roger’s indeed
Not a huge amount of interaction but no fuss and maintained a calm but friendly demeanour. Possibly a fraction brief during the pre-op check but I’m sure he had work to get on with
Mr Rogers has the knack of putting you at ease and giving you full confidence in him.
