At annual eye check, cataract in left eye had become noticeably worse and the start of a cataract detected in the right eye. This resulted in impaired vision particularly when night driving.

Met Mr Alwitry who put me at ease straight away. I was very nervous about the surgery but he put my mind at ease. Operation went very well and the after care and follow up was excellent. Also the very kind and professional Nicola who rang to make sure everything was ok after the op.

After the procedure there is quite a long wait before getting the all clear to go. Which is not a problem it’s for the patients safety. So I took my own sandwiches and snack and flask to be able to eat and drink it was later in the afternoon and I was getting hungry. I didn’t want to leave my room to look for food. That’s my personal thing. And not meant to be a negative comment.

Mr Alwitry is an entertaining and highly professional eye surgeon. He made an accurate assessment of my situation and recommended the best course of action. Procedure went extremely well and outcome was exactly as he predicted. Three months after, I am very happy with my eyesight with perfect distance and intermediate vision with functional near vision and only occasional use of spectacles for reading. Very knowledgeable with friendly and highly professional manner. Enjoyed the brief association and can highly recommend him to anyone looking for improved vision without need for glasses.

Mr Alwitry was inspiring. He was enthusiastic, positive and reassuring about the procedure. He explained the process, was clear about the options, the risks and the outcomes. The whole process from beginning to end was well explained and managed. And the outcome was amazing.

The whole experience was a pleasure. Being a retired Optometrist of 40 plus years on the other side of referring patients for cataract operations I initially had mixed feelings. Any doubts were blown away at the first consultation and thereafter I was completely relaxed throughout. Now three weeks on I am delighted with the resulting visual acuity and have been singing Mr Alwitry’s praise. Thank you so much.
