Mr Alwitry performed cataract surgery on both my eyes, left eye at Spire Leicester and right eye at Spire Nottingham and the results have been outstanding so far. Having surgery on your eyes is naturally daunting, but Mr Alwitry was brilliant at putting me at ease from the very first consultation. He took the time to explain the entire procedure clearly and thoroughly, walking me through the different lens options available. He helped me choose the lens, explaining exactly what to expect in terms of outcome. His calm, reassuring manner really took the apprehension out of what can be a nerve-wracking experience. The surgery itself was remarkably quick and completely painless both times. I was in and out within the hour and the recovery has been smooth. The improvement in my vision has been striking colours are more vivid, everything is sharper and clearer. It's like seeing the world through a new set of eyes and the brain getting use to it. The nursing and support staff at both Spire hospitals were excellent. The post-operative care was thorough I was given clear instructions on eye drop schedules and what to watch out for, so I felt confident managing my recovery at home. The whole team was professional, organised and genuinely caring. Mr. Alwitry's secretary was also very helpful and took time to ask how it is going with aftercare. My mother had a cataract surgery on the 7th of May. She had the best medical experience ever. Everyone was kind and took really good care of her. Doctor Alwitry was very good at everything he's done. It's the second day after the surgery and my mother is feeling very good.

I had cataract surgery in both eyes followed by YAG surgery. Mr Alwitry & Nicole were both so nice & made me feel comfortable throughout the entire course of treatments. Everything was explained in as much detail as I needed & all went smoothly. I had some later irritation & was assured nothing was wrong & to keep up my post operative hot eye bathing & it would settle…. & it has! Thank you for your skill & professionalism
