visited Alan Doherty in July 2025 to ask if my case would be suitable for Focal Therapy. I had been refused a prostatectomy by Nottingham NHS and I was searching for an alternative option. Mr Doherty and his experts did a very detailed analysis of my MRI and decided my tumour was not in the right place for Focal Therapy. However he said he would carry out a prostatectomy if I wanted. I was concerned about side effects but he talked me through the risks and was very reassuring. He said he had done hundreds of these operations and would expect a successful outcome. My operation was in October and everything happened exactly as planned with an excellent outcome. I cannot recommend Alan Doherty and the Focal Clinic highly enough.

I was concerned over the NHS long waiting list for a prostatectomy so booked an appointment to see Mr Doherty. He is friendly, professional and explained clearly what needed to be done. I was so glad he was my surgeon and could not have had a better one. He is so knowledgeable and experienced, leading such a great clinical team. Personally I think he's a genius and was lucky I came across his name when researching for the best Urology surgeon, his name came up and I believe he is one of the best in the Country if not the World Thank you for giving me the best chance at life.
