Dr Miriam Langdon

Dr Miriam Langdon is a dedicated Consultant Anaesthetist committed to delivering exceptional perioperative care and individualised anaesthetic management for patients undergoing surgical procedures. She prioritises patient safety and comfort, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary surgical teams to formulate tailored anaesthetic plans. Her approach ensures that patients feel fully informed, reassured, and supported at every stage of their care, from pre-operative assessment to post-operative recovery.

Dr Langdon began her academic journey in Canada, earning an undergraduate degree in Genetics, before obtaining her medical degree in Ireland. She completed postgraduate research in physiology, receiving a research distinction in 1997, and subsequently undertook higher specialist training in anaesthetics. She gained her Certificate of Specialist Training in Ireland and earned a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. In addition, Dr Langdon has held a professional role as an examiner with the College of Anaesthetists of Ireland, reflecting her commitment to high clinical standards and medical education.

With broad expertise across general and sub-specialist anaesthesia, Dr Langdon routinely provides care for complex surgical cases. Her clinical interests include advanced regional anaesthesia, perioperative medicine with a focus on older patients, and enhanced recovery protocols following surgery. She is also highly skilled in difficult airway management and advanced postoperative pain control, supporting patients undergoing orthopaedic, general, gynaecological, dental, and ear, nose, and throat (ENT) procedures.
