Dr. Melissa Philips

Dr. Melissa Phillips serves as a Consultant Medical Oncologist at the Barts Cancer Institute within Barts Hospital, located in London. With a specialisation in Breast Cancer, Dr. Phillips brings a wealth of expertise and experience to her role.

After completing her medical studies at King's College London, Dr. Phillips underwent general medical training at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. She then pursued specialised training in medical oncology at Barts Health NHS Trust, where she honed her skills in cancer care.

In 2010, Dr. Phillips embarked on a research journey, earning her PhD in Molecular Oncology. Her doctoral research focused on investigating the intricate role of the tumour microenvironment in drug resistance, contributing valuable insights to the field.

Currently, Dr. Phillips devotes her efforts to the comprehensive management of breast cancer patients at St Bartholomew’s Hospital. She holds significant roles as both Principal and Co-investigator in various clinical trials targeting early and metastatic breast cancer.
