Dr Martina Rodie

Dr Martina Rodie is a Consultant Paediatrician and Consultant Neonatologist dedicated to delivering high-quality, reassuring care to infants and young children. Specialising in complex neonatal health, she works closely with families to provide tailored support for babies born prematurely or those facing intricate medical challenges shortly after birth. Her clinical practice emphasises clear communication, evidence-based care, and a compassionate, family-centred approach.

Dr Rodie earned her medical degree at the University of Glasgow, graduating in 2004 with an intercalated Bachelor of Science with Honours. Continuing her pursuit of academic and clinical excellence, she was awarded her PhD from the University of Glasgow in 2017. In addition to her clinical commitments, Dr Rodie contributes to medical training and scientific research as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer. She also holds significant national advisory roles, serving as Chair of the Scottish Government Rare Disease Implementation Board and serving as a rare disease expert on the Foetal, Maternal and Child Health Reference Group of the UK National Screening Committee.

Sub-specialising in neonatology and paediatric endocrinology, Dr Rodie possesses extensive expertise in differences of sex development, congenital anomalies, and rare paediatric conditions. She actively engages in newborn screening developments and the implementation of international rare disease registries, which assist in improving diagnostic pathways and care standards. Through these registries and collaborative clinical initiatives, she helps advance treatments for complex and low-prevalence paediatric conditions.

With a dedicated focus on patient safety and holistic wellbeing, Dr Rodie ensures that parents and carers are fully guided throughout every stage of their child's diagnosis and management. Her integration of active research with clinical expertise provides young patients with thorough, up-to-date, and supportive medical care.
