Dr Martin Denvir

Dr Martin Denvir is an experienced Consultant Cardiologist and Professor of Medical Cardiology who provides comprehensive clinical care for patients with cardiovascular conditions. He specialises in the diagnosis, management, and long-term treatment of complex heart diseases. Dr Denvir is dedicated to delivering patient-centred care, combining high-level academic research with a reassuring and compassionate approach to support individuals through every stage of their cardiac health.

In his clinical practice, Dr Denvir maintains a strong focus on heart failure, coronary heart disease, and interventional Cardiology. He possesses specialist expertise in managing inherited cardiac conditions, including hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy, and Marfan syndrome. Furthermore, Dr Denvir is widely recognised for his work in supportive care and future care planning for individuals living with advanced heart disease, helping patients and their families navigate complex clinical decisions with clarity.

Dr Denvir completed his medical degree, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), alongside a Bachelor of Science (BSc) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cardiac Physiology. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP). Throughout his career, Dr Denvir has actively contributed to clinical trials, cardiovascular science research, and the education of medical trainees and colleagues.
