Dr Qaiser Zeb

I am a Consultant Cardiologist currently based at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. I specialise in both general and interventional cardiology, offering expertise in a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, including palpitations, hypertension, chest pain, atrial fibrillation, breathlessness, heart failure, angina, valvular heart disease, and heart attacks.

I have subspecialty training in complex and advanced coronary interventions, including coronary angiography, balloon angioplasty and stent implantation, intravascular imaging (IVUS and OCT), rotational atherectomy, intracoronary lithotripsy (shockwave therapy), and the physiological assessment of coronary artery disease.

I provide on-call services for primary PCI (Percutaneous Coronary Intervention) for the NHS Tayside population. I also maintain a regular cardiac catheterisation list, performing coronary procedures such as angiography and stent implantation for patients presenting with angina and acute myocardial infarction.

I completed my cardiology training in the East of Scotland, including placements in NHS Tayside and the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, and finished my training in 2021. I subsequently undertook a competitive fellowship in advanced coronary interventions in Somerset. In 2022, I was appointed as an Interventional Cardiologist at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton, where I provided specialist services for two years before relocating to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, in 2024.

I have presented at both local and national conferences, winning first prize for best case presentation during my cardiology training at the All-Scottish Interventions Meeting. I was honoured to be awarded Best Presenter again at the Scottish Coronary Intervention Meeting in 2025.

Throughout my career, I have been actively involved in multi-centre research projects, both during training and in my current consultant role. I am affiliated with Dundee Medical School and regularly participate in medical education. Additionally, I serve as an educational supervisor for junior doctors within NHS Tayside.
