Dr. Mahtab Sharifi

Dr. Mahtab Sharifi is a Consultant Chemical Pathologist and Metabolic Physician at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in London. She earned her medical degree in 2000 from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences Faculty of Medicine and has been on the General Medical Council's Specialist Register for Chemical Pathology (Metabolic Medicine) since April 15, 2019.

In her role at St George's, Dr. Sharifi serves as the Clinical Lead for the Biochemistry Department, overseeing both automated and specialist chemistry laboratories. She is actively involved in the Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation program, contributing to the development of individualised treatment plans for patients with cardiovascular conditions.

Her research contributions include co-authoring a study on polygenic hypercholesterolemia and cardiovascular disease risk, published in the journal Current Cardiology Reports.
