Dr Mahmoud Awad

Dr Mahmoud Awad is a highly accomplished Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon who specialises in Ophthalmology. His clinical practice is primarily focused on the treatment of medical retinal diseases and the performance of advanced cataract surgeries. Dr Awad began his medical journey in Egypt, where he qualified with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBCh) in 2006. Following his initial qualification, he undertook comprehensive training and accreditation as an Ophthalmology Specialist. His academic achievements include earning a Master of Science (MSc) in 2010 and a Medical Doctorate (MD) in Ophthalmology in 2016. Demonstrating a strong commitment to medical education, he also served as a Lecturer of Ophthalmology at a leading university in Cairo. Dr Awad holds prestigious professional memberships, including a fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians of Glasgow and a second fellowship from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. He is highly skilled in performing cataract surgery, offering tailored solutions that include monofocal, multifocal, and extended depth of focus lens replacements, as well as toric lens replacements for patients with high astigmatism.
