Dr Lucy Childs is a Consultant Radiologist with subspecialty expertise in Neuroradiology at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust. Graduating with Honours in medicine from the University of Leeds Medical School in 2008 alongside a First Class intercalated degree in Medical Microbiology (2007), she completed Core Medical Training in London, earning Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 2011.
She underwent higher specialist clinical radiology training on the prestigious Barts Health rotation (The Royal London and St Bartholomew's Hospitals), attaining Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) in 2015. Dr Childs further advanced her skills through a dedicated subspecialty Neuroradiology Fellowship at the Neurological Intervention & Imaging Service of Western Australia (NIISWA) in Perth in 2018.
Prior to her appointment at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust in 2025, Dr Childs served as a Consultant Neuroradiologist at Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust for six years (2019–2025). Her practice encompasses both adult and paediatric diagnostic neuroimaging, with dedicated subspecialty focus on stroke, dementia, and complex brachial plexus MRI and CT interpretation. Academically and educationally active, she regularly teaches fellow radiologists in brachial plexus imaging techniques and actively contributes to multidisciplinary diagnostic networks.
