Ms Laura Coster

Laura Coster is a registered dietitian with over 8 years of experience working with clients in the NHS and privately in the UK. She is based at the Gut Health Clinic in London and is passionate about helping her patients achieve success with their dietary needs. Her experience includes almost all areas of clinical nutrition gained in 7 hospitals.

She enjoys integrating nutrition with medical treatment, and psychological support to help improve the lives of her patients. Her motivation comes from seeing how uplifted her clients feel after sessions with her and how their health improves.

Laura has expertise in the use of the low FODMAP diet in the treatment of IBS and other disorders characterised by symptoms such as bloating, stomach pain, excessive gas, constipation, urgency to open bowels, and diarrhoea.

She has extensive experience in treating a range of conditions including the following:

• Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
• Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)
• Pancreatitis
• Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI)
• Pancreatic Enzyme Replacement Therapy (PERT)
• pre- and post-surgical management (gastric bands, colostomies, ileostomies)

She also regularly treats those with diabetes, PCOS, and food intolerances or allergies as well as patients with cancer or eating disorders.

Ms Coster gained her bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Surrey in 2014. Her previous roles included Health Coach at Second Nature, where she coached both NHS and non-NHS members, including those with type 1 and type 2 diabetes in managing their blood sugars and reducing their medications. She has also worked with the award-winning Eating Disorders Unit, where she helped patients with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorders and ARFID with meal plans, including those with nutrition-related conditions.

She has also spent time on the Nutrition Support Team at Basildon Hospital, helping patients with complex nutritional cases, including IV nutrition, enteral nutrition, and oral supplements. Additionally, Ms Coster has treated patients with gastrointestinal cancer, aiding with their gastrointestinal symptoms.
