About Dr Lalani Carlton Jones

Lalani Carlton Jones is a Consultant Neuroradiologist at Guys and St Thomas's, The Evelina Childrens and Kings College Hospitals in London, practicing in adult and paediatric neuroradiology and spinal intervention. She has a specialist interest in spinal CSF leaks, leading a multisite multidisciplinary service which receives national and international referrals and has collaborated with the world leading centres in spinal CSF leak care in the U.S.A and Europe.

Lalani is currently one of only a few neuroradiologists in the UK able to offer comprehensive investigation and imaging-guided treatment for this condition, including advanced myelographic techniques and the use of targeted fibrin glue patching. She has authored multiple peer-reviewed journal articles, oral presentations, numerous invited lectures on this topic internationally. She has pioneered new techniques in the field, which have now been adopted by other major leading expert CSF leak centres in Europe and the USA. She is an expert speaker, expert peer reviewer and author on this topic, and appointed visiting Professor for the Uniklinik University of Freiburg, the highest volume spinal CSF leak centre in Europe.

She also serves in several national leadership roles including currently as the British Society of Neuroradiologists (BSNR) Training and Education Chair, previously as the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) Learning Medical Education lead, UK imaging and oncology congress vice president, FRCR examiner and Royal College of Radiologists REAL panel as well as invited roles on international committees for the American Society of Spine Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America and as a founding member of the International Society for Spinal CSF leak. She has won several awards for her education and innovation work including BSNR Trainer of the year, Kings Health Partners innovation in education and Kings star Leader in Innovation, Research and Education.

She was also recently appointed as the Royal College of Radiologists and British Society of Neuroradiologist Du Boulay Professor 2024-2026.
