Dr. Kenny Sunmboye

Dr. Kenny Sunmboye is an accomplished Consultant Rheumatologist and Associate Professor (Hon.) at the University of Leicester with nearly 20 years of experience in medicine and rheumatology.

Dr. Sunmboye serves as the Co-Director of the NIHR East Midlands Research Delivery Network (RRDN), where he leads and coordinates numerous research studies in collaboration with national and international partners. His leadership role focuses on improving the delivery and impact of clinical research across the East Midlands, fostering innovation and collaboration in healthcare.

At the University of Leicester, Dr. Sunmboye contributes to curriculum development and teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate students. He is also actively involved in supervising and mentoring junior doctors and researchers, nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals. His academic expertise is further demonstrated through his role as Chair of the East Midlands Autoimmune Rheumatic Diseases Network, where he works to enhance patient care and research outcomes for autoimmune conditions.

As a Consultant Rheumatologist at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, Dr. Sunmboye provides expert care for patients with a wide range of rheumatic conditions, including autoimmune and inflammatory disorders. His clinical practice is complemented by his passion for research, particularly in improving patient outcomes through evidence-based treatments.

Dr. Sunmboye holds an MSc in Medical Education (with distinction) from University of Staffordshire. He completed his specialist training in Rheumatology and General Internal Medicine in the East Midlands.
