Ms Katherine Williams

I’ve known Kate Williams for quite some time, having had her involved in several of my surgeries, both in London and at Frimley. I’ve always found her to be incredibly approachable, compassionate and she genuinely listens to what I have to say. Which for me is super important to feel as though I’m being heard. I really appreciate that Kate never makes me feel pressured into having surgery. She has always taken the time to discuss the options with me and allows me to make the final decision whether to have the surgery or not. She is honest and realistic which manages my expectations well. Plus, if needed, we can have an open and frank conversation. Having someone you trust when you’ve been through as much as I have medically makes such a difference. I’m very grateful for the care she has given me and my complex Crohn’s over the years and would have no hesitation in recommending her.

Ms Williams was great. I was quite nervous beforehand, but she made me feel seen and heard. I felt much more at ease as the consultation went on.

Dr Williams was very professional and explained everything to me in great detail. I felt very comfortable.

This was a follow- up appointment after major abdominal surgery to repair a massive hernia after kidney transplant surgery.

Ms Williams had a medical student with her which was fine but I was not asked if I was happy with that. I was asked to describe my current symptoms but there was no examination. I felt the consultant could have asked me more questions about my condition especially as I was feeling unwell at the time. She did have my previous medical history on the screen so perhaps did not need to ask further questions. Ms Williams was very polite and professional but I didn't think it was the best consultation I have had.

I was quite anxious before my visit to the WPH. Ms Williams open the door, said Good morning with a nice, genuine smile and invited me to her consultation room. Her calm and gentle appearance, made me relaxed. Throughout the meeting, I felt, her sincere approach towards my health problems, listen carefully what I was saying, and giving some suggestions. And show me the CT scan which I’ve had 2 yrs ago, and explained it to me. Now I have some understanding my symptoms that I can help myself not to aggravate it I am very grateful. She gave me some hope that I can gain some quality of my life back in the future. I was very lucky to meet her. Thank you very much Ms Katherine Williams.
