Dr Karl Spiteri

Mr Karl Spiteri is a fellowship-trained Consultant Urologist with a broad clinical practice covering a wide spectrum of urological conditions. He graduated as a top student in Medicine and Surgery in Malta before completing his surgical and urology training, and was subsequently awarded Fellowship of the UK Royal College of Surgeons in Urology as well as the European Board of Urology Fellowship.

Appointed as a Consultant in 2022, Mr Spiteri has developed a subspecialist focus in the management of kidney cancer. He currently serves as Lead Consultant for kidney cancer at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, where he provides advanced, patient-focused care.

His expertise includes robotic and minimally invasive surgical techniques for both cancerous and benign or reconstructive upper urinary tract (kidney) conditions. These modern approaches are designed to reduce recovery times and support quicker return to normal activities.

Mr Spiteri is committed to clear communication and compassionate, individualised care. He ensures patients are fully informed about their diagnosis and treatment options, supporting shared decision-making throughout their care journey. Alongside his clinical work, he is actively involved in training and mentoring colleagues, particularly in the field of robotic urological surgery.
