Mr Julian Cahill is a consultant in neurosurgery/stereotactic radiosurgery at Thornbury Radiosurgery Centre in Sheffield. He was also appointed as clinical director of the National Centre for Stereotactic Radiosurgery in 2020. Mr Cahill has extensive international experience, having worked in Ireland, the United States, and Australia. His areas of expertise are neuro oncology and stereotactic radiosurgery.
Mr Cahill qualified with his MB BCh in 2000 from University College Cork in Ireland. He then completed specialist neurosurgery training in the West Midlands before undertaking a fellowship in neuro oncology at the Wessex Neurological Centre, University Hospital Southampton. He also completed a stereotactic radiosurgery fellowship at the National Centre for Stereotactic Radiosurgery.
He has a strong research background and has achieved a doctoral research degree for his translational research, which was undertaken at the Loma Linda University Medical Centre in Los Angeles, USA.
Mr Cahill is a member of the Leksell Gamma Knife Society, the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland, the British Neuro Oncology Society, and the Society of British Neurological Surgeons.
