I’ve been seeing Mr Yu for a few years now and highly recommend him. He always takes the time to explain everything clearly, never makes an appointment feel rushed and is happy to answer all of my questions. I feel completely confident following his guidance and recommendations and always leave feeling reassured that I am in very safe hands.

My Mum (78, in extremely good health) went to see Mr Yu at Regency eye clinic after receiving the news from the NHS that she had advanced glaucoma- and furthermore being told that she had only 18% vision remaining in her left eye. She had firstly been misdiagnosed as having 'sun damage' and then 'very early stage glaucoma'. After religiously using the drops she was prescribed, she was flabbergasted and devastated at her next check, just a few months later when being delivered this blow. We were recommended to seek an opinion from Mr Yu from a trusted individual in the field and went to visit him for urgent support. Mr Yu confirmed that the glaucoma in one eye was advanced and advised a hydrus stent to be fitted alongside cataract surgery. He confidently explained that this would reduce the intraocular pressure to avoid any immediate further loss of sight. Mum decided to go ahead with the surgery, which took place 2 weeks later. The sugery was a complete success, Mum followed all post operative instructions to the letter and has so far had 2 post operative checks with Mr Yu. The follow up examinations revealed that Mum's pressure in this eye has reduced and is is stable without the use of any drops. If the pressure begins to rise in the future, we were explained that she still has options for alternative surgeries. Mum will continue to visit Mr Yu to have this eye checked, but more importantly, to have her 'good eye' checked regularly to ensure early intervention. I arrived 10 minutes early for a visual field test but was called before I had finished checking in at the reception. After the test I was escorted up to the private clinic area. That was a nice touch. I was now 40 minutes early but once again had barely sat down before welcomed by Mr Yu. The clinic was welcoming, professional and I got from it what I need; reassurance and information.

Mr Yu has been managing my glaucoma for several years now. I have had regular consultations with him over the years and he has always been open, honest and thorough. I normally travel two hours to see him, which I am happy to do, since you cannot put a price on your eyesight. I recently had a fairly major procedure (sclera repair) carried out which was performed by Mr Yu. He personally carried out my surgery which was a total success. I was initially worried about the surgery but Mr Yu put me at ease. He explained the procedure in layman's terms and, along with his totally 'down to earth' approach, this helped me overcome my fears. He is supported by his secretary, Lorraine, who is always willing to speak with you and is a valuable member of the team. She is always extremely helpful and is always willing to answer my questions no matter how big or small. He is a consummate professional, caring and extremely skillful. He is probably one of the finest ophthalmic surgeons that there is.

I had a trabeculectomy in my right eye. Mr Yu is a very skilled consultant. He is very proffessional and explains everything in detail. He has a very calming manner in a very worrying situation. I trust him 100 % with my sight. I would highly recommend him. An excellent surgeon.

I have no hesitation in recommending Mr You. I had cataract surgery on both eyes and my astigmatism was corrected at the same time. The outcome was excellent. The treatment I received from the first consultation right through to the after surgery appointments was 5*

Mr Yu is professional and thorough in his consultations. He is very pleasant and easy to get on with.
