Mr John Lynch is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of knee conditions. Uniquely, he began his clinical career as a fully qualified and practicing physiotherapist, a foundational background in musculoskeletal medicine and rehabilitation that deeply informs his holistic approach to patient recovery. After deciding to pursue a career in surgery, he earned his medical degree from the University of East Anglia in 2010. His dedicated orthopaedic surgical training began in 2012, during which he gained extensive experience across major specialist centres, including the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham.
Mr Lynch maintains a clinical practice focused on restoring mobility through both primary joint replacement and soft tissue reconstruction. He has a particular surgical interest in complex knee procedures, such as knee replacement surgery (total and partial), arthroscopic knee surgery, ACL surgery and other ligament procedures, where he combines precise operative technique with tailored post-operative rehabilitation to achieve optimal long-term outcomes for his patients.

Mr Lynch is a friendly, calm specialist. He appears eager to improve your outcomes and has a down to earth way of explaining what is wrong and how it can be resolved. He explained the scans and used a model to show the anatomy of the knee well. Mr Lynch was a phisio therapist before he became a Dr so I received great practical advise about recovery and exercises too. I'm so pleased to have had my knee surgery under his care and my daily life is now hugely improved.
In my recent visit Mr Lynch explain in detail what he had achieved on my latest knee replacement surgery. He took time to show me my x-rays. He also checked the flexibility of my knee and was very pleased with my progress.
There was a problem with the knee replacement but Mr Lynch did everything possible to put it right and make me comfortable, my knee is getting better and when o have seen Mr Lynch he has explained everything and answered all my questions, I will hopefully be back at some stage to have the right knee done.

I'm really glad we could get you back on track so quickly. It was a pleasure to help and I look forward to seeing you for the other knee when you feel it's time for treatment. Best wishes
From my initial appointment with Mr Lynch, the surgery to fit new knee, and follow up appointment, I can find no cause to give any bad comments. Mr Lynch has done a great job, totally giving my leg much improved movement without the pain suffered previously.
All round very high standards maintained. In fact excellent
Throughout the appointments with Mr John Lynch I found him to be professional, friendly and reassuring. I was a very nervous patient, he gave me all of the facts in a way that I had confidence in him from the initial assessment and all the way through. I can't thank him enough and when my left knee needs a replacement I will be asking for him .
