About Mr John Awad
Mr. John Awad is a highly skilled consultant ophthalmologist renowned for his expertise in cutting-edge micro-incision cataract and oculoplastic surgery. He obtained his medical degree from Manchester University.
Following his medical degree, Mr. Awad pursued medical electives at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital and gained invaluable experience during his time in the Cook Islands. Following this, he completed his post-graduate ophthalmic specialist training in the West Midlands Deanery, honing his skills and knowledge.
Further advancing his proficiency, Mr. Awad underwent a prestigious fellowship in oculoplastic, lacrimal, and orbital surgery at the esteemed Birmingham Midland Eye Centre, a leading tertiary referral centre in the country. Mr. Awad is a full member of the British Oculoplastic Surgical Society.
Passionate about education, Mr. Awad serves as an examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and actively contributes to the advancement of the field through publications and peer-reviewed journal reviews. He has also shared his expertise at both national and international conferences.

Mr Awad was very polite and thorough, he made sure everything was ok and that I had no problems.
I had a consultation with Dr Awad this afternoon regarding upper eyelid surgery, and he couldn’t have been any more helpful. Extremely knowledgeable, he explained the procedure in full, answered all my questions ingress detail. Both my eyes were examined and measurements taken so I know what to expect on the day of the procedure. I’m extremely excited to now have it booked, and feel completely at ease knowing I’m in very good hands.
Found the whole experience relaxed and pain free , has 20/20 vision the next day with no pain or discomfort what so ever ,
